Searching Repairs


 

 

Within the Repair section you have the ability to Search for repair information. You can find the Search button on the top of the left window pane (Figure 1).

Once you click on the Search button, a search box appears in the left pane (Figure 2). Here you have the ability to Enter terms in which you would like to search.

1. Search

 

In the example below we will search for the term Wiring.  

 

1. Enter Wiring into the Enter terms field (Figure 3).

 

2. Click on the Search button (Figure 3).

 

3. The Search Results will be listed in the left window pane. The results are broken down into categories. Three main category titles are: Section Titles, Images, and Text (Figure 4). If no results are found, the search box will still be on screen and you will get a (No search results found) message (see Figure 5b below).

 

Note: The category title(s) may differ depending on what term(s) have been searched.

 

4. Once you've found what you are looking for, click the blue link and this will open the content in the right window pane (Figure 4).

 

5. At any point within the Search option, you can click on the Back to nav button. This will return you to the tree layout (Figure 4).

 

6. You may also select New Search and the search box screen will reappear (Figure 4).

2. If you enter multiple terms, the search engine will return results containing these terms exactly as searched. In the example we searched brake shoe (Figure 5a) versus shoe, brake (Figure 5b).

3. Selected Search Result

 

Once you have selected your desired Search Result the page will refresh (Figure 6).  

 

1. The right pane will show the content of your selection.  

 

2. Above the content you will see the bread crumb navigation which will show you where you are in the documentation (see bread crumb navigation for more information).  

 

3. The left pane will continue to list the search results.

 

4. You may start a new search by clicking the New Search link in the upper right hand corner of the left window.

 

5. You may also go back to the tree layout by selecting the Back to nav button (see tree layout for more information).
